Colt Knost Career Highlights

Colt Knost was an accomplished amateur golfer in Texas prior to attending SMU and graduating in 2007. While a collegiate golfer, Knost earned all-conference and all-region honors, and in 2007 he won three USGA events, only the third player to ever do so (Bobby Jones and Jay Sigel). That year he won the U.S. Amateur, U.S. Amateur Public Links, and was part of the winning Walker Cup team for the United States.

By turning pro in 2007, Knost waived his invitations to the Masters, U.S. Open, and British Open. His best finish that season was a tie for 38th at the Frys.com Open, forcing him back to Q-School, but he failed to earn his PGA Tour card. He, instead, played on the Nationwide Tour (now Korn Ferry Tour) and earned both of his professional wins in 2008 at the Fort Smith Classic and the Price Cutter Charity Championship. His wins gave him his PGA Tour card for 2009, he returned to the Nationwide Tour in 2010 and earned his card back for 2011.

After playing on the Web.com Tour in 2014 and the PGA Tour in 2015, Knost did not earn another victory on either tour. At the 2022 Waste Management Phoenix Open, Knost missed the cut and announced his retirement from professional golf. His career earnings total $4,355,438.

His best finish in a major championship was a tie for 70th at the 2016 PGA Championship. In 2022, Knost began his career in broadcasting working for CBS Sports on PGA Tour coverage.
