good value and a surprise of a gem for those that don't know where this course is located. It's a public golf course but feels like a private one with a driving range and putting/chipping green.
The course has shown steady improvement over the last several years with consistent maintenance and "large Projects " such as tree removals, rebuilt tees, improved drainage, etc. It has been lengthened to around 6100 yards from the tips and plays tougher due to the penal nature of misplaced shots on many holes. The greens were amongst the best in the state last year-they seemed to thrive even in the difficult turf conditions of the scorching heat. The Videtta Management group has built a beautiful clubhouse and the chef, Jose, is a genius at making the most mundane lunch or dinner selections memorable. The 19th hole and outside deck are as comfortable as you'll find anywhere. I especially enjoy using the natural turf or mat driving range to warm up before a round or to work on my full swing. Along with the enormous and impeccable practice green and surrounds, including bunkers and mounds for almost any shot imaginable, it is easy to concentrate a few hours of invaluable practice at Laurel Lane when playing a full round isn't in the schedule. The range price is reasonable and the putting green/short game area is FREE. What a deal. Your friends that you play with once a week will never figure out how you're improving either! All in all, I have to say that Laurel Lane is a great deal cost-wise for the quality of golf. It ain't a private club, but you get a reasonable test of skill with eminently good greens and conditioning. It's a course that fits into a working man's budget. The staff if friendly, helpful and professional, too, making it an enjoyable place overall. If you haven't tried it, don't hesitate. I'm sure it will be a pleasant experience.
