Chenango Commons is a great spot for a round with younger junior golfers who might be playing for the first time. For more experienced golfers, it’s a great spot to play a quick round before work and brush up on your short game.

The course is a 9-hole executive public golf course. The course offers one tee and is made up of Par 3 and Par 4 holes. If you’re a decent golfer, you probably won’t even need your driver on the Par 4 holes. The longer hole (#9) tops out at 267 yards. There is one tee box.

The fairways are flat and open. There isn’t anything remarkable about the scenery. This is a popular course since it’s so playable for new golfers. With that being said, the course is actually in better shape than a lot of other public Par-9 courses. The tee boxes can be a bit rough, but the fairways and greens are in fairly good shape and are definitely playable (no cow pasture here.)

The main hazards on this course are water and trees (there’s no sand traps on the course.) I recommend playing on a weekday morning when you can get through the course in about an hour. The course is much too busy on weekends.

This is a good course to walk because it’s short and flat. The clubhouse is small and only provides the basis, but there is a good bar on-site. Chenango Commons is a great course to make some memories with the junior golfers in your family. It’s straightforward yet well-kept with a friendly atmosphere.

This is a nice place to work on your short game. It is cheap, easy to walk, wide open fairways, and relatively flat greens. It is definately one of the easiest courses I have played. It helps build confidence for a beginning golfer. It is a great place for kids as well.
