A moderate golf swing doesn’t mean you have to give up on increasing your distance off the tee. The Titleist TSi1 driver is specially designed for golfers with moderate swing speed – 90 mph and lower – who want to increase club and ball speed with control off the tee.

Do you fit into this category? A surprising number of golfers do; Titleist estimates that golfers with a moderate swing speed make up 30 percent of all golfers.

Lighter Club Allows for a Faster Swing

Like the TS1 driver that came before it, the TSi1 driver is much lighter than the other clubs in the line. In fact, the TSi1 is almost 40 grams lighter than the standard driver. In addition to being lightweight, the TSi1 has a slight draw bias which benefits most players with a slightly slower swing.

How Can Titleist Make the TSi1 So Lightweight?

The TSi1 has a 460cc head so you might be wondering how the weight can remain so low. Like the other drivers in the TSi Series (by the way, TSi stands for Titleist Speed Impact), the TSi1 driver has some pretty high-tech features that have never been seen in a golf club.

  • ATI 425 Aerospace Titanium Face – Considered one of the best features of the TSi Series, this innovative material packs quite the punch without adding much weight. ATI 425 is lightweight, flexible and durable so your swing is fast yet consistent. Titleist is the only golf company to use the material in its clubs; it was first developed for ballistic armor applications and has since been used in jet engines and NASA’s Phoenix Mars Lander.
  • Ultra-Thin Titanium Crown – The TSi driver crown is extremely thin, so thin that it stretches to the limit for the thinnest titanium crown allowed in golf. How does that benefit you as a player? A thinner crown means a faster swing.
  • Aerodynamic Shape – The streamlined head of the TSi1 cuts through the air for a smooth, effortless golf swing.

How Does the Golf Ball Come Off the TSi1 Driver?

The TSi1 has a face-centered center of gravity that produces the most draw bias of any of Titleist’s drivers. It is high-launching with mid spin and creates more ball speed than the original TS1 driver.

Do Pro Golfers Use the TSi1 Driver?

The TSi1 driver is designed for your everyday golfer who is looking to increase swing speed. You won’t find it on the Tour, but it does have many qualities of the TSi2 and TSi3, which are quite popular on the Tour. The TSi1 has Tour-inspired looks and a great sound and feel at impact. Not everyone can play like a Tour golfer, but with the TSi1, you can look the part.
