After turning pro in 2013, Ancer became a young, promising talent in golf. In 2015, Ancer won the Nova Scotia Open on the Web.com Tour (now Korn Ferry Tour). In 2018, he won the Emirates Australian Open, an event on the PGA Tour of Australasia.
His biggest win, and lone victory on the PGA Tour, came at the 2021 WGC-FedEx St. Jude Invitational. Ancer got himself in the mix after shooting a second-round 62. He ended up in a playoff with Sam Burns and Hideki Matsuyama. Ancer birdied the second playoff to win.

In June of 2022, Ancer announced his resignation from the PGA Tour and moved to LIV Golf. His best individual finish was eighth at the tour’s event in Boston. His team, Fireballs G.C., claimed the top spot at the 2022 event in Bangkok. In August of 2022, Ancer dropped out of a previously filed antitrust lawsuit against the PGA Tour.
Ancer, who stands 5-foot-7, isn’t the longest hitter. During his time on the PGA Tour, he averaged around 297 yards off the tee, around 120th on tour. Instead, Ancer relies on his fantastic short game, and is recognized as one of the game’s best ball strikers.
