One of the reasons a lot of people close the clubface and produce an unwanted hook is that when they come to impact they roll their hands too early and too much, thereby closing the clubface and causing the ball to go way to the left. What you want to do is you are coming back into impact is to rotate to a position where the back of the left hand is facing the target so that clubface will be square. To help you get rid of this unwanted roll what I would like you to do is what I call the Reverse Roll Drill. In order to do that drill what I would like you to do is set up with the toe of the club pointing towards the target. Take your normal grip then practice hitting shots very easy. See if you can open the clubface enough to get it square at impact from that ultra strong grip starting position. As you can do that then you start backing up the clubface a little bit so that you do not close it so much. Try it about half that much and try to come in to the ball and reverse the position of your hands to where the clubface is square, until you can finally do that where the clubface is square with a neutral grip. By doing this drill it is the quickest way I know of getting rid of the over rotation of your hands which produces that unwanted hook.
