After playing so many courses built in the 90's and 00's, it was refreshing to play a course like this Johnny Miller design in Afton, WY last summer. It stretches just over 6,000 yards, has beautiful views of the valley and mountains, has world-class greens, and we played 18 holes walking in under 3 hours. The layout is pretty straight forward, back and forth, and could feel tight if not for the mounding and Miller design that provide good variety and flow. It's a walkable, playable course that is fun for everyone. If you're sick of 7,000 courses where you must drive a cart to get around in 5 hours and hit driver/3wood on all the par fours, stop and play this incredibly fun course in Afton. It was a blast.
