Golden Horseshoe Golf Club

$89 a round in Mid-March is a bit steep...but fortunately, I had a silent auction coupon, so paid much less. Cart fee was $30 a person, the most I've ever paid. This is a very likeable course, but at this time of year, the Bermudian grass in the rough stayed a rather unattractive brown. Except for the Par 3s...most holes looked very much alike. What you see on the first hole is what you see throughout the entire course. Large mounds surround every fairway and after a few holes, the course loses its uniqueness. After the round was over...I could not remember which hole was what. I photographed almost every hole (fortunately labelling each hole on the scorecard)...but couldn't tell which hole was which without it. Greens excessively slow. Mounds helped keep drives in fairway. Staff extremely polite and friendly...felt very welcome here! It was a Williamsburg experience...but too much $$$ for not enough variety.
