Usually don't go on these review sites but my co-workers and I really enjoyed this course. Everyone from the cashier to the marshal was very nice and helpful. The course was in excellent shape, we asked the PGA Superstore and they recommened its scenery and condition and we were not disappointed. The course is mostly situated on Lake Lewisville and the greens roll true. We played on the weekend in less than 4 1/2 hours and we enjoyed it so much we played an extra 9. The beers are great price...I think they were $3 per beer. Thanks PGA Superstore for introducing this course. It will be one to visit this Spring. Go to GolfNow.com as they have great deals....under $30 for 18-holes. GREAT COURSE

For the price, this course is worth the price. Expect to pay anywhere from $15 - $30 per round. The scenary is great and there are multiple lakeside holes that are very impressive. Living in the Frisco area, it is nice to have such an inexpensive place to play close by.

With that being said, it is a 9-hole course with two pins and two sets of tee boxes on each hole. To play a full 18, you have to go through twice. The course feels very short.....in fact it isn't even a 72-hole course. It seems like you're hitting on a par 3 every other hole. There are only 2 par 5's on the entire course, which happen to be # 9 & # 18. The par 5 is pretty challenging because it dog legs right and you have the lake to contend with the entire way. However, besides the par 5 hole and a small handful of others, the course is pretty easy. I can remember a buddy of mine driving OVER the green on hole 1 because it was so short.

Another negative is the ammenities. First, no cart girls. Second, there is an awesome looking clubhouse that I would think you could do so much with. Put a bar/restaurant in there and golfers would love to hang out after their round is over. BUT, instead they have a half empty clubhouse that constantly seems to look like they are reorganizing. Last time I went, they had tons of binders just sitting on the counter behind the register. It just gives a cluttered look to a building that has so much potential. I'd also love to be able to get food and drinks there. They have weekend specials where food is available but it is hit or miss as to when it is offered.

Long story short, even despite the negatives Stewart Penn is a real value for your money. If you have the itch to play some golf and don't have a lot of cash, then check this place out. You'll love the scenary and probably have an enjoyable round as well.

Love this course. Told GM I was coming by boat and he allowed us to pull our boat to his dock. My friends and I were very surprised at the layout and great condition of the course. They had a great looking cart girl and the other golfers were very freindly. WE WILL BE BACK!
