This is an old school course with small, well-bunkered greens and generous fairways that nevertheless demand that you shape tee shots to go low. It's a GREAT course, in my view, with excellent variety and enough challenge to keep you both interested and honest. No easy par anywhere on the course, but the design also never feels tricked up. The only downside is distance: It's a bit too far to travel from Houston to play it on a day trip; but the course is so nice that it IS worth it at least once if you ever get the chance to play. This is easily a five-star course.
