I walked this course in 2008. So very lovely in the early fall with nice fairways and well kept greens. Some nice views of downtown Ft. Worth. I am from Texas and live in Abilene, so I will count this as 2nd played course for my 50 state golfing quest.
I've been visiting Rockwood for a while now, and had the chance to play it in all types of weather and conditions. This is your typical budget-friendly municipal golf course. Nothing fancy, but everything you need. Fairways are not perfectly manicured, greens have dry patches, and you'll lose your ball if you venture too far into the rough. However, with the demand for perfectly maintained courses at astronomical prices these days, it's good to see a course that is no-frills and easy on your wallet. I also hit Rockwood when I'm looking for a quick, enjoyable round of golf in the $20 range.Would recommend for a round if you haven't been, but don't get your hopes up for luxury. Enjoyable course that is fairly easy, but tough enough not to be a complete joke.
