Course is dry and hard, including the greens. I think it would be a nice course if they increased the maintenance and upkeep.
STAY AWAY! By far the worst course I've ever played. No grass on the fairways. No evidence of grounds maintenance at all. We got lost several times trying to find the next tee. No water on the course when the temperature was triple digits. Staff was rude.
My wife and I have been visiting this course for the last few years. Unfortunately, the change in ownership has not improved the course or its management. This past weekend we were rudely confronted by the superintendent when he misidentified the party I was with as having committed a minor violation of the rules (driving off the cart path on a Par 4). When we told him he had us confused with another party he became belligerent and aggressive. The ladies we were with were upset and the entire day was ruined. The course Marshall and all of the staff seem to be working under the influence of a singularly horrible individual. I strongly discourage anyone from considering Canyon Lake golf course. Despite the many nice and generous people working there-including Frank (the Marshall) and the staff inside, we will never golf there again-such a shame because the course has potential. Fire the Superintendent and hire a professional-as soon as that is done we will be back! Thank you.
