I play at cedar Crest a lot. The greens are consistently in excellent shape. The front nine is wide open. The back plays like a different course, very tight and very short. Friendly staff, nice setting. I like it.
Let me start off by saying this is not a bad course to play. The greens are normally in great shape and putt very well. The fairways are not bad, but if you miss the fairway, you take a great chance on damaging a club due to all the rocks. Now to the bad, this course is way overpriced. I went to Cedar Crest the other day to walk 9 holes during the week. I was told, "$15, Oh by the way we just aerated our greens". I just turned and walked out and headed to Smyrna Munuciple and walked 9 for $12. First how are you going to charge me $15, then on top of that charge me full price to play on aerated greens? Give me a break! I can go walk 18 holes during the week at Old Fort for $22 or Pine Creek for $25. No wonder this course struggles to survive.
