Very solid course with an even better staff. Although the course doesn't stand out in the way some other area courses do (Hillcrest with its trees, Lakeview with its scenery and hills, etc.), it has plenty of nice features. It isn't extremely difficult, but its #9 and #18 definitely are hard and both have noticeably tough water hazards. The course is distinctive in that many of its holes present players with options, several of which will challenge the temptation and aggressiveness of skilled golfers. Although the course is not heavily wooded, its trees have grown in beautifully since the course was built 20 years ago, and these provide added difficulty. The staff is top-shelf and, like most of the golfers on the course, will be happy to see you and welcome you with great hospitality. The course is well maintained and features a great driving range, putting green, and chipping green. Golfers from outside the area will find it a great value (I've played similar quality courses on the coasts that were two or three times more pricey). If you're in the Yankton area and would like to play some golf, be sure to stop by Fox Run. You'll be glad you did, and so will the staff and other players there.

Beautiful course. And challenging. The last hole--#18--features an island green. After playing 17 holes you are faced with this green that asks you whether you want to go for it or lay up. Hole #9 also features water. It doglegs left around water. On the right side leading up to the hole is more water leaving a very small landing area unless you are gifted or lucky enough to get past the corner with your drive. A couple of greens are tiered so you really have to pay attention to pin placement--front, back or middle. The 9th green has a triple tier. Add to this some very well-placed bunkers and a few blind shots and Fox Run will challenge you. In that way it is a very nice course to play.
I'd like to add one more thing. The people there, not just staff but other golfers, are exceptionally nice. I played as a single and 4 groups let me play through. Three of those groups were twosomes. Where else do you find such friendly and courteous golfers?
