Been going to UFO 2-3 times per week since last year for nightly rounds and playing groups of 4 which typically nets them $150-200$ each time. As it is $49 with a cart for 9 holes. This is factually more expensive then pristine courses with the sole redeeming factor that you can play at night.

The course (Chomedy), has many very narrow fairways, trees all around, is poorly lit up in the middle of holes which causes many lost balls (in play) and is horribly maintained (Tee boxes are basically bunkers, fairways and roughs have same cut, greens have dirt and holes in them everywhere, there are empty beer cans on the holes and the staff are like 18 year olds who have zero regard for service).

All of this I could've looked past. However, last night we booked a 4some as usual and 2 holes in, it started thundering with torrential downpour. Obviously, we found shelter and waited out the rain as we were under the assumption we were 'pot committed' and didn't want to lose our round after paying.

After waiting nearly an hour, we recommenced our round... Shortly there after we were approached by an employee who told us we could only play 2 more holes and then leave and that the owners were behind us wanting to close the lights.

No one ever told us we could get a rain check initially and get credited so we basically got jipped like 4 holes... we took it on the chin and left. Afterwards at the pro shop trying to get our ID's that were taken for the cart rentals, they told us they already locked those away and had to get a manager to get them which made us wait another 20 minutes (which we could've played another hole).

I called today to speak with a manager (Stefan) to try and see if we could get some sort of amicable compensation due to the fact we were not able to finish our 9 holes. He politely told me to FO and that they were not interested in coming to any agreement because apparently, you must finish your round within 2.5H or they can kick you off. This is comical as just last week we had multiple 5somes ahead of us that took near 30 minutes a hole and no Marshall or employee did anything. Which caused our 9 holes to run for near 5 hours.

I am more than reasonable and just wanted them to even offer some sort of credit to make it right.. But the manager I spoke with seemed very happy to not want to come to a fair resolution and instead will lose 4 clients that come 2-3 times per week.

It's unfortunate but this kind of customer service (especially at a golf course) cannot be tolerated.

I have been golfing considerably more this summer. I have always considered UFO as a sort of home course in all my years golfing. Always have had an amazing time, the course is simply beautiful and the staff has always been friendly. Yesterday did not follow the pattern that I was so used to when golfing at UFO. When me and my friend were unloading our carts in the parking lot after completing the 9 hole course, we were approached by a car, the individual identified himself as the owner and began to accusingly interrogate us about our intentions. Dumbfounded by a stranger who with an aggressive tone begins to confront me. Ufo has always been a prestigious establishment in my eyes, the staff and golfing greens further proving this, however I was saddened to realize that this standard did not live up when considering ownership. I would think that a business owner would give its clientele the benefit of the doubt (as he probably thought I was stealing the carts for some reason) but I guess not. I have been to this course many times and have probably spent over 500$ in the last couple of weeks. This leaves me with a very sour taste in my mouth. It’s hard for me to consider going back to UFO. I guess poor ownership really does ruin great courses.
