This course is not a 4 star. The course is short and boring. What made this place seem low rated was the pathetic excuse for sand (I should say sand/rock) traps. I had to pick the small stones out of the area of the ball before hitting and pretty much all of the traps were in the same poor condition. Unless the traps actually get some sand in them I won't be back.

I just had a great golf experience and really need to share it. This course is challenging but totally enjoyable. I am not a great golfer by any means but I do enjoy a good course with a great pace of play and that's what the Mainlands is. I golf all over the area and I found this course worth every penny. It wasn't expensive and didn't charge me for things I don't need or use that some other course charge you for. I can't wait to come back again and again. Our foursome had a fantastic day laughing and having a good time with the helpful friendly staff. As if the course wasn't picturesque enough we saw a beautiful bald eagle nesting. AMAZING! The food was a good price and tasty and the bathrooms were clean. So from the first tee to the 18th green I highly recommend taking your family and friends to this course as soon as possible.

Short and tight with tons of out bounds. Another course that tries to make up for a lack of distance with sloping greens and questionable pin placements. Usually kept in good shape though. Par 5's are rather disappointing. Strange to have a par 3 for both the 16th and 17th hole. Greens can be on the slow side.

This is a very nice short course that is a wonderful value ($17 to walk early bird special weekday) Although short, there are plenty of unique and interesting holes. Uphill holes, downhill holes, doglegs, and water on a few that only adds to the beauty of the hole. The maintainance was great and the greens were in good condition, tricky breaks but fair nonetheless. They have logo balls for the logo ball lover like myself, a huge plus. I can't think of a single negative thing to say other than the pace of play was brutally slow despite the rangers best efforts to keep play moving. However the isn't the fault of the course as the benefits draw in a lot of golfers. My reccommendation would be to play as early as you can or late afternoon to avoid some of the crowd. Overall rating A.
