Traveling through with my future brother in-law’s bachelor party group and we booked this place to play some golf. 5 golfer and I was just riding along. Before we even got into our carts, we asked if we could all play together instead of splitting up into two groups. We were told enthusiastically, yes. While playing, we did left a few other groups play through as they caught up however, a member of the staff rolled up on his cart and informed us that “we have been getting a lot of complaints” and that “you are going too slow” so we will have to split up. Now, I get it, I don’t think any of us would have cared too much if we had to split up but this staff member monologued on, “if you don’t split up, I’m going to have to ask you to leave and call the cops.”

Naturally, threatening to call the cops didn’t sit well with me or the rest of my group. This, though the most shocking revelation we had to deal with, the pro-shop attendent had about the same enthusiasm as a Walmart self checkout and the snack bar was grossly understaffed. The poor girl working there was just swamped and no one was able to help her. I don’t have anything bad to say about her, she just simply couldn’t keep up.

The course was alright, but the staff here is just miserable and having the threat of the cops being called on us is just the cherry on top.

This use to be one of the best maintained public courses in western PA - not anymore. The condition of both the Red and Gold courses are Horrible! There are greens on the Gold course that are unplayable - 60% of the green just a dead muddy mess. Many fairways the same way. Worst is that it has been this way for over a year! I played course early last year and it was in the same condition. With 2 courses you would think they would close 9 holes at a time for repairs until they get things under control - not at this place. My organization was going to have an outing at Cedarbrook later this year, but after playing it today I will make sure we cancel and move to another course. I would be ashamed to ask people to pay $75 to attend an outing given the conditions at this place. To top it all off - every time I go to Cedarbrook the cart attendants are rude! A bunch of crabby old men that seem bothered by the customers who come out and pay good money to play this goat track. STAY AWAY from Cedarbrook!
