tdklett has a valid point. Pace of play is excruciatingly slow at times (though I usually have no problem with slower groups letting me through). A commitment to putting a full time ranger out on the course would fix problem in a heart beat. It's a valid criticism. That said, the course is usually in decent enough shape, the greens are fast and true. Great scenery of the surrounding area. The layout is simple - probably not my first choice when going out to play, but if it's not busy, it's enough of a challenge to work on your game.
Despite the challenge of this course and the beautiful surroundings, playing with back woods hillbillies with no etiquette or the ability to play. I spent over an hour playing by myself behind two groups of 2 that spent more time looking for their balls than swinging the club. On 3 of the 4 holes I pulled up as they teed up their balls and attempted to tee off. Twice I asked to play around and was told that they were being held up as well. This, as someone who takes the rules and the idea of a decent pace of play seriously, finds this extremely irritating. I will never play this course again despite being 5 minutes from home and having a decent rate.
Specials are great here! Usually pretty busy. Fun, challenging course. Doesn't get old.
