Cardinal Hills Golf Course

Cardinal Hills is a classic old-school golf course with lots to offer. The course originally opened in 1922, although it’s been very well kept up with throughout the years. The course is set in Randolph, NY in the Enchanted Mountains of Cattaraugus County.

As the name suggests, this course is situated in a picturesque hillside setting with rolling hills throughout. There are large trees throughout the fairway. Along with those, you’ll encounter a few water features and sand traps. This biggest challenge is the elevation changes, because they make it more difficult to accurately read the green.
There are two tee boxes, and the length of the holes ranges from 105 yards (Hole #11) to 533 yards (Hole #7.) Watch out for shorter holes that feature elevation changes like #4 (170 yards.) Taking your time to select the right club and using a viewfinder will help to improve your scores.

The fairways and greens are all well-maintained. There is definitely pride of ownership at this course. The price is also good. It’s half the price compared to similar courses in the area. The clubhouse was recently renovated and they offer a full menu and bar.

This isn’t a course that you’ll master on your first time out, and that’s part of the fun of it. There’s definitely a few holes where local knowledge is required. This course will test your ability to hit on uphill and downhill lies as well.

All in all, Cardinal Hills offers a classic day out at the golf course. It provides scenic views, an interesting round and a comfortable clubhouse with full amenities to enjoy after your round. Highly recommended!
