Although Candia is the easiest courses in Southern New Hampshire, with a wide open layout and links style play(without the gorse & pothole bunkers), it remains a solid option for the average golfer.

The staff at "Candia Woods" and sister course "The Oaks" are the nicest in the state. The laid back attitude makes for an enjoyable round on what is a reasonably well maintained course. My chief complaint on maintenance is the rocks and bumps in the fairways/rough. For about the last 5 years the greens have been in great shape and rival the best public courses in the state. The front nine is wide open with little chance of going OB and then the back nine gets a little tighter.

They have a unique membership option whereby you load a debit card with cash and recieve discounted rates for as long as you have it. They call this the Evergreen membership and the discounts are available at both Candia Woods and sister course, The Oaks. The other nice thing about the memebership is that you get to hold your GHIN and enjoy discounted rates for the leagues and practice range.

As long as the price remains reasonable, this a good course to play frequently to work on your game without loosing a ton of balls. For a more challenging round on nicer playing surfaces and the same friendly staff try The Oaks.

This course has to be one of the most boring in NH. They market it as "Links" golf, but except for having formerly been a fairly flat cow pasture, it's just 18 holes with very little that's interesting. Hit it as hard as you can and then hit it again, putt out and go on to the next hole. The idea is to push as many people around the course as quickly as possible by eliminating anything that resembles an obstacle. There's one dog-leg of any note (their "signature" hole #14) but most people can aim right at the green off the tee. One curiosity is 150 yard markers represented by white posts in the MIDDLE of the fairways.(?)The four-lane highway off in the distance provides a constant drone of noise. Pretty expensive, too, for what you get.

This course is a typical average public course. Fees are way to high for what you get. Rocks in the fairways, empty water jugs, little or no water in the ball cleaners, no rangers to keep up the pace of play, ball marks all over the greens, and they have to "balls" to charge $65 for prime time golf.
