My favorite course in the area, and the best-looking. A local gem for northeast Nebraska/southeast South Dakota. VERY hilly. Unless you're in really good physical condition and it's not too hot out, don't even try to walk it. Get a cart, you'll be glad you did. Be sure to hit straight. If you don't, there are no shortage of opportunities to lose your ball out of bounds in the woods here. Be careful of deceptively sloping fairways that can tend to tilt your shots toward the trees or into slopes and gullies. Not an extremely difficult course - some holes are quite easy - but there are some holes that will definitely present challenges. Weekends in the summer can be crowded. Come out on weekdays or on weekends in the fall and spring. And enjoy the scenery!

Very scenic 9-hole course in the hills on the Nebraska side of Lewis & Clark Lake. It is hard to concentrate on the holes because the scenery is so nice. Several holes overlook the lake. Others are nestled in trees and wildflowers. The course has a few bunkers but no water hazards other than a fountain between the 1st and 9th fairways. Holes 8 and 9 are probably the toughest. #8 is a 180-yard par 3, slightly uphill to a small green with a bunker on the right side. #9 is a 430 yard par 4. The fairway slopes down from the tee but then up again to the green. This is not a course to walk. Several times you have to go down and up through long tree-lined ravines to get to the next hole. The hike between 5 and 6 is particularly arduous. It is long and steep. Very steep. Like San Francisco city street steep. But this is a must-play if you are in the area.
