I played this course while on a business trip. I'm sorry, $25 for a public course that is as well maintained as this one is a steal. The greens are slow but that help a hack golfer. The tee boxes are excellent and for me, I always notice the area around the greens on a course and these were excellent. Not wild grass and stubble but very smooth to allow an approach to bounce and roll up on the green. Fairways were good and the rough wasn't hell to get out of. Alot of variety, uphill, downhill, doglegs, water, length. If I lived here I'd buy a membership to this course.
This can be a fun course to play when not too crowded. I usually play during the week and wait times are generally not too bad. The course is very well maintained and the greens are not as slow as some have implied. If you are used to playing on very hard fast greens maybe so but I'm not. Speed is about average. The front nine is relatively flat with not as much challenge as the back. Back nine has two par threes and a par four that negotiate over water from the tee box. Also a hillier terrain on the back, starting with #9 just before the turn. The golf carts are kept clean and are a nice quiet electric with good speed. My home course is Goldsboro Municipal and this course has become a part of my repertoire of about 4 or 5 different courses I play for a good mix. Senior rate just increased from $15 to $18 and is still a good price for a well kept fun course.
