The course is in excellent shape in the spring. It is a wonderful weekend course with great scenery. It is wide open and not very long. The fairways are soft but provide a lot of role. The greens are big and undulating and fun to putt. There are lots of bunkers and some water, but it only comes into play in a handful of holes. The course is tucked away in an undeveloped subdivision so you really feel like you can get away from everything but golf for a few hours. --Note: the course does not run past the clubhouse until you finish.

Now a year later after my initial review things have changed and course went bankrupt and now under a new name Golf Club of Rocky Mount. Course is still very nice, but not as lush as before. I played on Sunday and fairways were a little crispy and didn't offer the usual ball sitting up on nice carpet. Greens are still good but many old ball marks and a few very small patches of dirt showing. But for 35 bucks it’s a great value (which was 50 bucks last year). Shame it went down hill and seriously doubt a permanent club house will ever be built. Pity. But I still highly recommend the course. And it was over 100 degrees when we played but the "cart girl" had already gone home so no snacks or drinks except for the few drink machines.
