June 8, 2023 Wilmar Golf Course in Raleigh, NC has been sold to land speculators and is no longer in business for over a year.
Played Wil-Mar for the first time today. I'll definitely go back. The Pro Shop staff was very friendly and the check-in process very quick and efficient. The driving range was adequate and the practice putting greens (there are two) were very nice. The course has gone to Bermuda greens and they were in good condition. The tee boxes and fairways were in very good shape and overall, I'd give the course a "good" rating for conditioning. It was crowded for a Friday and yet the pace of play was very good. We played in slightly under 4 hours. The course is relatively short: 6,120 from the blue tees. There are some short par 4's and even par five's; however, even with the shorter length, there are some challenging and enjoyable holes. Given the senior rates charged and considering it's a "play all day rate", you would have difficulty beating Wil-Mar anywhere in this part of N.C.
