The golf course was in pretty good shape. The main issue was on the greens where very few golfers seemed to repair their ball marks. The big problem on the course is lack of drinking water. There were only two water stations, one on each nine. A refreshment cart did travel around while we were on the first nine, but we never saw that cart again. By the time we reached the back nine water station, we were really dehydrated. We drained the water cooler, but could only half fill our bottles. We survived the heat, but just barely. Heat stroke was a real fear the last 6 holes. In summer heat this course needs water every 3 holes for the safety of the players.
Nice course in nice shape.
Love this course. It is well maintained and difficult enough to be challenged but still enjoy your day out. My girlfriend had just started golfing and so our foursome was slow but we were never rushed and they provided a set of clubs for her at no cost when she was just going to share her sister's. On top of all of this, I left my wallet in the cart and when they found it they called me to notify me and mailed it no charge. I will certainly be coming back.
I liked it! Especially the price.Played Sea Scape alone on an early December Monday (the Monday after Thanksgiving) in the late morning. The course was largely empty and I was able to play comfortably in just two hours and 15 minutes. I encountered two twosomes on the back nine that graciously allowed me through without me having to ask. Friendly people. The course, which was in pretty good shape especially given the time of year, has an interesting layout with dogleg par 4s, plenty of hills, and some tough par 3s. The back nine appears to be significantly easier and shorter than the front nine, although holes 16 and 17 are quite challenging. They had a deal on their website for a round and a cart for $17.25. That is a great deal. The usual price for a round in December is $50. Like most Outer Banks courses, the price of a round drastically increases in the busy summer period - largely due to the fact that there are only 4 courses in the upper half of the Outer Banks. There is a bar/restaurant on premises, which I did not get to try.In summary, this is a nice course and a worthy play, especially if you can get a round for $17 and change!
Great course. Fast greens.
