It is a beautiful course! I think all course are at least beautiful and this is a nice course. They have a real clubhouse feel. Yes the course is onthe flight path of some airport, big whup! The greens were in pretty good shape and the holes were pretty long. I'llplay here again for sure and think you should too!
I played this course on 11/19/2010. As noted in another review..this course is on a direct flight line for the Asheville Airport....so there was a time or tw we needed to baack away from a shot to allow the jet to land. As the clubhouse attendant told us..there is a LOT of water on the course. We weren't disappointed. It came into play on well over half the holes. When the guy in the club house tells you to lay up on a Par 5....beleive him. The grass in the fairways was dormant and the rough vibrant and thick. The dormant grass just allowed for a better roll...sometimes into the water! The course isn';t a grip it and rip it course. A number of times I hit a fairway wood off the tee. We played the blues...but they had been moved up in some instances. I say we were probably playing the course at about 6,100 yards. You had to know the yardages here... The greens were in very good shape..and the course an enjoyable 18 holes. Winter rates were in effect ad I paid $34 w/cart. I do plan on playing the course again...and should score better now that I have a feel for the distances. A very nice course.... My only complaint...was not being able to get a beer in the clubhouse after the round. Looks like it has been closed for the season!
