Tanglewood Park Golf

I consider this my home course. It is by far my favorite. Unfortunately, this year the weather was tough on it. The winter was so cold followed by a summer with very little rain, high temperatures, and high humidity. That "perfect storm" led to the loss of some of the fairways and some of the greens, especially the ones on the back nine. With the cooler temperatures now, the conditions are improving. The grounds crew are working hard to bring it back, even going so far as to close it for a few days to do maintenance. I look forward to playing it towards the end of the month. They should have it back to where it belongs by then.
The front nine is fairly open after you get past the first tee. The back nine is a good test of golf. It's more of a target kind of golf. You'll hit most of the clubs in your bag and will score well if you don't try to overpower it.

The fairways were a little rough earlier in the season but after talking with the greens crew, I learned it was due to the hard winter we had that killed the grass..but most fairways are back to normal with the exception of one on the back 9, I forget which one, but you cant drive on it anyways and most of the sod is coming back strong, so just another week or so...besides that this course rocks! you cant beat 26 bucks to play all day! The pace can be slow around the senior golfers (especially the senior ladies..who yell at me to hurry up so they can hack their shots into the rough some more haha)

Plyed this course this weekend and it's AWFUL shape. Clearly, they are struggling to keep fairways alive and around the greens and tee boxes wasn't much better. I've always enjoyed Tanglewood but stick with Champions course. This isn't a value at any price until they put in some work on the conditions. SHAMEFUL COURSE CONDITIONS!!!
