Excellent pro shop staff always willing to help a last minute golfer. Tight fairways with mature trees throughout. The greens play quick stay below the pin is the best advise I can offer. The back five holes make this city course feel like you are thirty miles outside of town. Helpful and friendly membership that looks out for each other.
I'm a 12 hcp, played SV last fall.. This course is easier on the back nine shot (41). Nearing 100 years, a very mature and scenic city club indeed. I would dare say some of the fastest greens around, near perfect, i play majority of metro private clubs. You must evaluate your reads here. Course requires you to think your way around to score well, lots of trouble. Long boomers off tee will find course frustrating because tee shots need to be in to eliminate doubles. Used driver on 14 holes and if re-played would use it on only 11 max. Front nine driver really got me in trouble. Would consider joining if i lived closer to east side of metro. A very pretty course, wanted to walk but with member and rode, nice carts. Members and staff were friendly. Dinner ribs were excellent. Final advise,, Be below the hole on #1. Course was a pleasent surprise even though i didn't score well, would love to play it again.
