Step back in time at this classic Maine golf course! Like many other courses in the state, this one was built in the early 1900’s (1916 to be exact) and has a classic golf layout. The most stunning part about golfing at Abenakee is the VIEWS! There are clear views of the ocean and the rocky coastline. This is a beautiful location for a course. In terms of the round itself, there’s no surprises on this course as typical for many courses of this era. Fairways are straight and wide open. There are 3 tee boxes and a few sand bunkers throughout the course. The bunkers need a bit of work and could be fluffier. The fairways and greens are both well maintained. You won’t find any water hazards on this course. The amenities are basic with only a pro shop but no restaurant or driving range. The staff are friendly and welcoming by private club standard. Enjoy an easy round in a wonderful location and a taste of classic Maine golf. Abenakee is certainly worth a visit.
