Stone-E-Lea is a simple straight forward course. The front nine first 4 holes are an exercise in placement golf shots. The remaining holes are more or less wide open and do not get you in to too much trouble except for number 15 which is a difficult par 3. They have some good long par fours that make you sure you get your money's worth out of the new technology drivers on the tea shot. For the big hitters, number 14 is a teaser reachable par 4 from the tea shot. There is very little sand. Even less water except for number 15. Greens are well kept and are very fair. The fairways have no irrigation so they are brown in summer if the summer is dry. Overall all a great value. They have made changes to their rates this year. They now have after 1pm weekend rates that are very reasonable. The family that runs the course lives on site. They are nice people. There are No times. Put your ball in the rack and wait your turn.
Good basic muni. The maintenance is a little rough but acceptable for early morning walking round.
