Pistakee Country Club offers a straightforward, enjoyable round of golf at a reasonable price. It’s a 9 hole public course that opened in 1941. The landscape of the course is hilly and treed. On the course, you’ll find straight, open fairways with large trees on either side that separate the fairways. There are two tee boxes. This course offers a nice pacing and good variety between par 3, 4 and 5 holes. The shortest hole on the course is #4 at 140 yards and the longest hole is #1 at 490 yards. The most difficult hole on the course is #3 at 420 yards. Look out for the sharp dogleg left. Hole #6 is the most scenic on the course since it’s on the highest point of Pistakee (190 yards.) The course feels private and is very walkable. This course is light on hazards. There are no water hazards and just a few sand bunkers. The price is reasonable too - it’s just under $25 for 9 holes with a cart. The amenities are a bit mixed. There’s a pro shop and a full bar, but no restaurant. It would be nice if the clubhouse here was equipped for more than just a post-game round of drinks. The condition of this course keeps improving. A great hidden gem worth visiting.
Very reasonable rates for a well kept and manicured 9 hole course. Fun layout and scenery, easily walkable with pull cart.
Played this course a ton. There is a full bar but no other amenities. Its a relatively easy course. Maintenance is touch and go on some courses with the fairway difficult to differentiate from rough sometimes. There is some great scenery on holes 3-5 where you feel completely alone on earth...especially during the week. Price is reasonable. Very walkable. Not a bad diversion for an okay price, give a it a whirl.
