I played this course on Jan. 26, 2013 and thought the course was very good. The greens were in great shape and the layout was very good as well. The course was in very good shape. The back tees make this course long and tough. The white tees were a little too short. They need a combo set of tees between these two markers. The course was set up to be a private gated community with houses around the course, but the downturn in the economy got them. No houses have been built yet, so it is just golf (nice not to be playing in someone's back yard). With no houses built yet, the clubhouse is just a place to pay for your golf. No food or drink to speak of. The price was very reasonable and included cart and driving range balls (we paid $65 per person). The driving range is a place to loosen up, not practice. There were no flags to hit too, no yardages marked and most shots you couldn't see land, since you hit over a hill to a lake. Overall, I would definitely play here again.

Played on June 13. Greens had been arified but actually rolled pretty good. Lot's of weeds popping up in the fairways. Looks like they are in some trouble money wise. Golf course is great. From the back tees, it's a beast. Great layout. Hopefully they will be able to keep the place going, it's a great course.

This has become one of our favorite courses with a nice mix of holes, lengths, and left to right, right to left doglegs. While the Sarasota National property is in foreclosure or bankruptcy, the golf staff is still doing a nice job to maintain the quality of the course. We'll continue to play here each year when we visit as the course is one of the best tracks in the area.

We played the course on 8/13/11 and the greens were perfect. I would rate them a 10, on a scale of 1-10 with 10, high. The course is an excellent value with summer rates. We are not into amenities and scenery, but great greens and a nice layout, that is what is important to us. We played it in four hours and it is one of our favorites, we play it several times May-Oct. So if you like a nice course don't be concerned with the lack of a manicured entry, no 19th hole and scenery. Our guys like good tracks and also like Riverwood, Kingsway, Misty Creek to name a few.

Wide open off the tee. Great greens. A fair test off golf. Lacks a nineteenth hole!

Troon knows good golf. i really liked this course. not walkable by any means. long distances between holes. loved the fact that this course winds through wetlands and you dont see as much as 1 house on the whole course. a true "middle of nowwhere" course. It was in great shape too. Greens were fast and fun to putt on with some crazy undulation on some of them. And long too. the tips played pretty much all 7344 yrd minus some corners cut. clubhouse had good selection at the turn and was super friendly. a bit expensive in the winter (late Jan.) but range balls and good practie area as well as detailed course yardage map helped. it does need more yardage markers, so a GPS would help especially if there was one on the cart. all in all i highly recommend it.

This is the most beautiful course I have ever played. I am a mid-handicapper and this had some seriously wide and very playable fairways. Great greens, very fast and even, fairways were in decent shape. No houses within site, every hole is unique and you cannot see any other players or holes from your green. Only issue was lack of a lunch or hotdug area. Overall I am very pleased with course.
