The Glades RV Resort

A nine hole course in the middle of the south central Florida everglades. Nice RV resort. Hole seven is a monster par five and hole four is where, as a par three, you count yourself lucky to get a par. Nice challenge for the average golfer. Could use some beer and wine added to the grill menu but for the price it's a fun couple of hours.

This is basically a cow pasture with 9 flags sticking up in it. First hole is a difficult one, being a par 5, long, tight with o/b to the right and water to the left. Water on almost every hole, but only comes into play occasionally. I like the layout of the course, it's fair and can be challenging. The length of the course is decent. Alligators and wildlife are observed regularly in season. This is a no frills experience. A small rustic diner serves good hot sandwiches. Bring your own water. No dress code. A round costs about the same as some of the better courses in the area, but this location is a ways from anywhere. Greens and fairways are in rough condition most of the time. No pro shop. Small driving range, hitting off mats. Course length and design is better than many nine hole courses because they have adequate space. Casual water can be a problem after a big rain. Native Florida landscape surrounds the course. No parallel fairways, banana slices will end up either out of bounds or in the water, so its a pretty good course to learn on.
