I played this weekend on June 2, 2013. The fairways are perfect, the bunkers are fine. The greens are in terrible condition and some of the tee boxes need work.
Greens are in brutal condition. It's been like this for 3 years now, only worse this year. Fairways and traps are just OK. Too bad, because it's a good layout-- very fair but challenging.
It's hit or miss at Cimmarone. Iv'e played and the greens, fairways, and tee boxes are immaculate. Last week, the greens were atrocious. It looked like the holes have been in the same place for weeks. Pace of play has been an issue here for me more times than not. One good thing though, no lightning detector like they have accross the street at South Hamptom or down the road at St. Johns, which is nice. Overall, I say give Cimmarone a try.
