This is a great course that has been totally neglected by the course management. Dry, dusty, the bunkers are either hard packed sand or just plain dirt. It appears the all the maintenance is directed towards the Sky course. Too bad!
Update March 16th 2011Still a players course! But..the course is drying out as they will be closing it soon? Dry, sandy and a little rough around the edges. One snake sighting. Also saw groves of mushroom in the fairway. Seems like the bare minimum to keep this course alive. The track is in hospice. Someone save it please! How will it get through summer? One pro: If you can get a 40$ price not to many people are out there. Beautiful location and wildlife. Greens are fast, fairways are sandy and fast. I have played there multiple times, I have a love for this course as I am willing to look past its current flaws. It's like one of Tiger's concubines, Hard and dirty and if you have had a taste you go back for more punishment. But if you have never played here before try somewhere else as this once promiscuous course is now older and drying up. Rest in Peace. In the valley of the SHADOW of death, fear it...When no one is looking, I WILL be back for more.Summer 2008:Played on a weekday, low traffic, Great staff. The facility is wonderful. The course was difficult. The shadow course ate me alive with the blind turns and tight fairways. I will be honest..I would rather shoot higher scores here than on a busy, easy city course. This course was epic, you can't ever let your guard down. I enjoyed getting my butt kicked. I will be back. Don't let your score deter you, this course is tough. Buckle in. Awesome experience! A distance meter here is highly, highly recommended, some say a must. GOOD LUCK!!!
