Course was in great shape. Groups moved well without any back up. Finished in a little over 4 hours. Staff helpful and friendly.
I like Summitpointe. It convenient and plays well although perhaps a little predictable. The one challenge is the sheer golfer throughput. Both times I have played were early morning and there is definitely a feeling of being on a conveyer belt. Still - if you are looking for something that's a step up from a muni without going crazy this is a good place to check out.
I played after a week of rain so the course was very wet. However, the conditions were a good as can be expected given the weather. The course was in good shape and the greens were fast for such wet weather. I didn't like that their driving range was limited to irons only but it was sufficient to warm up with. As with most public courses the play was slow even for a Monday. I finished my round just over 5 hours as we waited for the group in front and they waited for the group in front of them and so on. The most difficult part of the course is the many uneven fairways since the course is on the side of a hill. Knowing how to hit off the fairway from uneven lies, especially when the ball is above or below your feet will dramatically improve your score. Greens are hard to read. Even the player that played there regularly had a difficult time reading the green. Some puts that appear to be flat are not and vice-versa. Overall very challenging and beautiful scenes. I would return when the course has dried out a bit.
We were displeased on how the course allows anyone to play. We had a small tournament in front of us. The all had carts full of booze and beer...buy the 10th hole they were all really drunk...on the back side the four groupsbecame very hostile. At no time in a 11 hole stretch did any marshall come by. they were so loud how could they not be heard. and they wereso slow. when one of our ball trickled into there fairway they automatically picked it up. When we asked for it back they got pissed. Then there foursoeme up front started coming back. I told are group sincewe were heavily outnumbered lets just sit at this bench and let them geta few holes ahead. It was a terrbile experience. A very poorly and unprofessional place to play...They were even loud on the first tee. Thepro shop should have seen this coming especially with all of the alcoholthe four foursomes were carrying. Very terrible. I would never playthere again. I have played many courses in the bay area for years. NO course would have allowed this and would have stopped it immediately.Very poor excuse for a golf club. I surely would not buy a home up thereeither....
