I've played this course five or six times now. Pace of play has been bad only twice (I play only on weekdays), and one of those times it was an @$!*% in my own group, who refused either the marshal's or his playing partners' directions to either pick up the pace or let others play through, so not much you can do there. It's true that some fairways are wide, but others are narrow, and if you miss, you're dead, embedded in the hills that come down from the houses. The first time I played, the greens were extremely fast, but they've seemed normal since then so maybe that day was a fluke. Even so, if you don't get to the correct portion of the green, two-putting can be difficult. The staff have been polite to me. Sometimes it can get VERY windy, in which case prepare for a battle. Decent value overall, and better maintained than many lower-end courses.

Sierra Lakes is a very challenging course.I have to disagree with the person that said 50percent of the homes are empty or abandoned. There are empty homes but no more or less than any other community. Absolutely great condition and difficult to play. They do have a tendency to stack up the players.I have yet to finish a round that started at 3 pm due to the player log jam .

Too expensive and badly managed. The course is nice but the dopes in management/pro shop don't care about you, or your time. 4 groups on the first tee, backups everywhere. My dog could run this place better.Never had a good experience here. Stay away.

Great place to build confidence. Grip it and rip it! Fairly open and yet still challenging! One of the course you should play in the IE. I would place Oak Quarry top on my list, Empire Lakes second on my list and Sierra Lakes third on my list for courses in this area....but you should play all three of them!

Course was in great shape, greens were very consistent, soft and med-fast. Staff was very nice, attentive and helpful. Price was outstanding and well worth the value of for the round played here. Course has nice mountain views nestled in between nice homes. Great mix of challenging holes with lengthh and water and holes that you can go low on. Great fun course...thumbs up! They even cleaned my clubs when I finished my round...when was the last time that happened, other than at a private or resort course?
