If you're like most golfers, you'd probably love to hit a consistent draw, both off the tee and with your irons. But what if you could just hit it fairly straight instead of, say, slicing it? We bet you would take that, which is why we’ve rounded up the straightest golf balls of 2024 to help keep you in the short grass.

It's important to choose wisely when you decide which golf ball to use. The truth is you can take a lot of banana out of a slice when you use a ball designed not to curve much. It's less true with hooks – especially the pull, smother hooks – but that's not the most common problem golfers face. 

Besides being inaccurate, a big slice also robs you of distance. If you slice and hit it short, forget about those urethane-covered tour balls, and check out these balls that fly straighter and longer, not only off the tee, but on all shots.

The straightest golf balls typically have fairly firm covers, more compression, and a core that's more responsive, especially with slower swing speeds. Premium golf balls are designed for lower spin off the driver to create a more penetrating ball flight. That changes, however, with irons and wedges, where they create a lot of spin. Plus, even off a driver, a urethane ball spins more than a distance ball. And distance balls don’t spin much with irons or wedges.

You'll see this theme with all these balls that go straighter: low spin, greater distance. The Titleist Velocity is just that. It's one of the firmest golf balls on the market. It launches high, and there's not much spin on any shots, which means hooks and slices will be minimized.

Titleist says the high speed LXS Core is what's responsible for its distance, as well as a fast NAZ+ cover with a spherically-tiled 350 octahedral dimple design. It's available in white, matte orange, and matte green.

Pinnacle has long been known as a distance ball, and the appropriately named Pinnacle Rush is no exception.

Balls that are designed for distance also tend to go straighter. That's because they spin less, especially off the driver, but in this case, with irons as well. So you're looking to go long? Then check out the Bridgestone e9 Long Drive. This ball was, in fact, developed with the World Long Drive Golf Association. It features something called "Extreme Gradational" core technology, which is a combination of a fast outer region with a soft inner area to control spin.
