King of Comfort? My Life-Tested Review of Pluto 1 Golf Shoes
Pluto says its Pluto 1 golf shoes are "the most comfortable shoes in golf." We found out.

Thanks to the new trend of all-day golf shoes like the Pluto 1, I’m changing my shoes in the parking lot a lot less often this year.
The rise of all-day golf shoes brings plenty of options that perform on the course yet offer the comfort, style, and versatility to transition seamlessly into the rest of the day’s activities.
Pluto claims its Pluto 1 is “the most comfortable shoe in golf,” a crown countless brands and shoes crave. So I tested the Pluto 1 on the course, at home, at the practice facility, and, well, all day, to find out just how comfy they are for this life-tested review. Let’s get to it.
Need to Know
Every pair of shoes we review is course-tested for at least 36 holes and rated for comfort, traction, waterproofing, style, and value. Our hands-on process ensures you get honest, consistent recommendations you can trust. Learn more about our full testing and scoring process.

I typically don’t pay much attention to flat-soled shoes. I’ve always liked the looks, but never liked walking in them. So, admittedly, I would never have picked the Pluto 1 golf shoes out of a group and said, “I have to try these.”
Oh, how quickly things change.
The look of the Pluto 1 is casual with a street vibe. It’s much more lifestyle than golf.
If you want a versatile golf shoe, the looks are great. But looks mean nothing if you don’t like what’s on the inside. It’s more about how it makes you feel. Yes, we’re still talking about golf shoes, because if you’re walking the course and your feet are hurting, those shoes are quickly getting relegated.
It’s hard to describe a shoe’s comfort, but here’s what I can say. The more I wear the Pluto 1 shoes for golf, the more I rely on them for everyday use. In other words, they’re not-so-slowly replacing my everyday shoes, even on days I don’t pick up a golf club.
Since I’m always squeezing my golf between other, arguably more important, obligations, I’m riding high on all-day golf shoes, and not just the Pluto 1. Not having to change my shoes before and after I practice and play is a small win, but a win nonetheless.
However, among the group of all-day golf shoes, the Pluto 1 makes one of the smoothest transitions off the course. You’d never see someone wearing these shoes at the grocery store and wonder why they’re wearing golf shoes.

Pluto 1 Fit & Sizing

The Pluto 1 shoes fit a little on the snug side. When Pluto reached out asking if we wanted to test the Pluto 1, I said I wore a 10.5, and they opted to send a size 11 to account for this. The 11s fit well, offering room to move without feeling loose, confirming that the half-size-up move was the right call.

The Best Golf Shoes of 2025: Tested, Scored & Ranked
Pluto 1 On-Course Performance

If casual, sneaker-style golf shoes were the best design for industry-leading traction and stability, we would have been having this conversation 25 years ago.
There is clearly a trade-off with the style of golf shoe that you can wear to Home Depot, the golf course, then Buffalo Wild Wings all in the same day. That tradeoff is that they simply can’t offer the feet-cemented-into-the-ground stability in wet conditions that a spiked, or even an aggressive spikeless golf-only shoe, can offer.
Are they great during benign conditions? Absolutely.
Are they an excellent option for 80+ percent of the golf season? Yep.
Do they inspire confidence when the forecast calls for sustained rain throughout the back nine? Nah.
That’s okay. That’s not what they’re designed to do. They’re designed to be golf shoes that you can wear anywhere, even if you’re not a golfer. And they do that well.
Style & Versatility
I mentioned that the Pluto 1 is replacing my everyday shoes. I try not to wear them off the course because I prefer to save my golf shoes for the golf course, but with the Pluto 1, it’s honestly hard not to. They feel better than the Nikes I usually wear to walk the dog or run errands. And while the white and green color scheme doesn’t necessarily jive with every outfit I own, they still work well with my mostly neutral wardrobe.
Although I know not everyone will agree with the street, lifestyle look, the versatility of the Pluto 1 simply can’t be argued. Wear them anywhere.
The Most Comfortable Shoes in Golf?
Are the Pluto 1 golf shoes the most comfortable shoes in golf? It’s a bold claim, and one that can’t be proven. Based on my testing alone, some options from TRUE and Payntr, and even Skechers, would certainly like a word.
But comfort is subjective. I’m not sure I’d say any of those shoes, these Plutos included, are more comfortable than any other. They’re either perfectly comfortable for all-day wear, or they’re not. From that perspective, the Pluto 1 golf shoes are easily as comfortable as they come.
