Odyssey Triple Track Putter Review
Odyssey Triple Track Putter Review
Can you train your brain to make more putts? It seems possible with the Odyssey Triple Track putter. Released in early 2020, the Triple Track taps into our visual awareness for better accuracy.
Triple Track Technology and the Signature Lines
The Triple Track putter line was designed to match the popular Callaway Triple Track golf ball. Odyssey is owned by Callaway so the partnership between the ball and putter manufacturers is a natural pairing.
Both the putters and the balls implement Triple Track Technology which is based on the concept of Vernier Hyper Acuity. Callaway is constantly using technology and science in the development of new products, and they have seemed to hit the mark with this line of putters.
Each Triple Track Putter has the signature three lines – two blue lines flanking a center red line on a white background. The lines resemble notebook paper and serve the same basic purpose – keep things aligned.
Sight lines on putters have been used for generations and golfers have long marked their balls to help with alignment while putting. It's the outer blue lines that are the key to Vernier Hyper Acuity and more accurate putting.
How Vernier Hyper Acuity Helps Your Putting Game
Vernier Hyper Acuity – sounds confusing, right? It’s a complex name but a simple concept. Vernier Hyper Acuity is the way the brain processes the spatial relationship in the objects it is seeing. It's the same technology that is used to land aircrafts and in gun sights. Without guidelines, the way your mind perceives something to be straight can drastically differ from how straight it really is.
The spatial relationship created by the outer blue lines on the Triple Track putter is what allows you to accurately line up the center red line. Vernier Hyper Acuity naturally decreases with age so the lines become even more beneficial with time.
Find the Triple Track Style That is Right for You
Odyssey offers the Triple Track putter in blade and mallet styles. Read a little about each below and check out our tips on how to choose a putter before you decide on a model.
- Triple Track Seven Putter – This popular face-balanced putter is a great choice for putting strokes with little face rotation and arc. Choose the Triple Track Seven Putter S for strokes with more face rotation and arc.
- Triple Track 2-Ball Putter – The double-bend, face-balanced mallet is best suited for strokes with minimal face rotation and arc.
- Triple Track 2-Ball Blade Putter – This blade putter has moderate toe hang and is good for strokes with face rotation and arc.
- Triple Track Marxman Putter – The double-bend, face-balanced putter replaces the thick line found on previous Marxman models and is a great choice for strokes with minimal face rotation and arc.
- Triple Track Double Wide Putter – Features a double-bend, face-balanced wide blade and is a nice choice for strokes with minimal face rotation and arc. For a similar putter head for strokes with more face rotation and arc, choose the Triple Track Double Wide Flow Putter.
- Triple Track Ten Putter – This premium double bend, face-balanced model has very high moment of inertia (MOI) and works best with strokes with minimal face rotation and arc. If your stroke has a little more face rotation and arc, consider the Triple Track Ten S Putter.
Features Microhinge Star Insert and Stroke Lab Technology
Most Triple Track putters come with Odyssey's Microhinge Star Insert, a new spin on the classic, popular Microhinge Insert. The new star insert has a firmer feel and better sound at impact than its predecessor while still providing consistent topspin and roll.
Like all Odyssey putters, the Triple Track styles use Stroke Lab Weighting. The multi-material shaft is 40 grams lighter with weight redistributed to the head and grip end of the putter. The result is improved tempo and a smoother stroke.
A Few Possible Drawbacks of the Triple Track Putter
There are a few things to consider when shopping for a Triple Track putter:
- The Triple Track putter is fantastic at helping align a straight putting stroke, but some golfers do not use a straight stroke. Adjusting can be tricky.
- Aligning the special Callaway ball with the putter head takes more time and can slow down play.
- Some people like the type of ball they are playing and do not want to switch to match the putter.
Professional Golfers Who Use the Triple Track Putter
Golfers using the Triple Track putter include:
- Dylan Fritelli (PGA Tour)
- Si-Woo Kim (PGA Tour)
- Pable Larrazabal (European Tour)
- J.J. Spaun (PGA Tour)

The Triple Track Ten Putter is the model often preferred by PGA golfers currently using a Triple Track putter.
