Mizuno Irons by Year

Mizuno irons are known for being perhaps the best irons in golf. Mizuno irons have more prestige than any other irons in the game, and most of that strong reputation is because Nothing Feels Like a Mizuno. Yes, that’s the company’s slogan, but if it weren’t true, it wouldn’t stick.

While Mizuno offers blade and cavity back (CB) irons, in both forged and cast builds, the company’s bread and butter are the soft-feeling forged irons designed for better players. Yes, mid and high-handicappers can find Mizuno irons that fit their game, but the fact is, if you really want to take advantage of the irons that Mizuno is known for, you need some ball-striking skill.

Mizuno Pro & JPX Irons

The Mizuno Pro, also known as MP, and JPX lines are two of the most popular, longest-standing lines of Mizuno irons in history.

There are currently three iron models under the Mizuno Pro line, which is sometimes designated. These utilize the traditional forging process that made Mizuno such a power in the golf equipment category. MP irons are best fit for solid ball-strikers, with mid to low handicap players typically gravitating towards the cavity and muscle back options, while low handicap to scratch players may opt to game the blade option.

In addition to the Mizuno Pro lineup, the company also offers the tremendously popular JPX line which has always fit a wide range of players. JPX irons are offered in a range of options, from cavity backs that offer forgiveness for mid and high handicappers to forged blade options that appeal to the more skilled players.
