Why Knockaround Sunglasses Are Winning Over Golfers
Life-tested review of Knockaround's golf sunglasses

Did you know that polarized sunglasses can make your day on the golf course harder? Sure, polarized lenses have their benefits, but those benefits come at the expense of compromised depth perception. That’s why playing golf with polarized sunglasses can be ever so irritating.
That’s also why Knockaround Sunglasses, the PGA Tour’s official eyewear partner, uses non-polarized lenses in its golf sunglasses.
Knockaround and the PGA Tour officially formed a partnership late in 2024, so let’s take a closer look at their made-for-golf sunglasses, including their “Dead Golfer” collaboration with TRUE Linkswear, which I’ve been using first-hand for the last couple of months.
Golf Sunglasses Requirements
Not just any sunglasses will cut it on the golf course. We already mentioned that polarized lenses can hinder depth perception (which is vital on the golf course), but what else should you look for in golf sunglasses?
For me, the other non-negotiable is finding the ideal tint. I almost swore off sunglasses on the golf course from having to take them off and put them on every time the sun snuck behind a cloud or I found myself playing from some unexpected shade (stuck behind a tree), forcing my eyes to adjust every time.
For me, golf sunglasses must have a balanced tint that performs in all light intensities so I can put them on when I head to the course and keep them on until I step into the clubhouse after the round.
Lastly, they have to stay securely on my face without shaking or wobbling.
Knockaround Sunglasses Review
Key Features:
- Non-polarized Knockterra+ lens tech
- Competitive pricing
- UV400 protection
- Securely stay still even during a golf swing
- Impact-resistant lenses
- Plastic neutral
Agreeing to a long-term partnership (five years in this case) with the PGA Tour is one way to snatch golfers’ attention. Another is to collaborate with one of the hottest golf lifestyle brands out there, TRUE Linkswear. Knockaround did both, so it’s no surprise that golfers are eager to learn more about the brand and, more importantly, figure out if the sunglasses are actually superior on and off the golf course.
Knockterra+ Color Enhancing Lenses

First-person look through the Knockterra+ lens
Knockaround has a really nice blurb on its website about how and why its Knockterra+ tech works, but I don’t know the first thing about the different filters and color-enhancing properties of sunglasses lenses. I just know what I see.
These Knockaround sunglasses reduce brightness, but not by simply making everything look dark like some lenses do. With these lenses, colors look rich and saturated, and I’ve never had to take them off while outdoors because the light conditions changed, which is a huge sticking point for me.
I also have somewhat sensitive eyes. Having had Lasik vision correction, I need to wear sunglasses pretty much any time I’m outside and the sun is even threatening to shine. Even though these Knockaround sunglasses don’t make everything dark, I’ve never had light sensitivity while wearing them. These lenses strike a great balance.
Fit, Comfort & Style
I’ve hinted a couple of times already that I’m a fan of the TRUE Linkswear collab with these sunglasses. After all, how can the “Dead Golfer” skeleton in perfect position at the top of the backswing not give you the feels?
Between that logo on each side of otherwise nonchalant black frames and the Moonshot blue lenses, the style of these shades suits my taste well.
The nose piece has a rubberized pad that keeps the sunglasses securely in place. I tested these while swinging a golf club and haven’t been able to get them to budge, wiggle, or move even the slightest bit.
Price, Value, and Selection
The Knockaround Sunglasses I tested are listed at $55 on Knockaround’s website at the time of publishing. In a category where the most well-known brands often charge five times that much, I’d consider that to be a great value.
Other styles of Knockaround shades run between $40 and $80, placing the brand as a whole squarely in the value category. Offering non-polarized lenses certainly helps keep costs down, but Knockaround’s non-golf sunglasses are available with polarized lenses and still check in at the same budget price point.
Knockaround’s collaboration with TRUE isn’t its only collab. They have more than 20 different options in their co-creations line, from NFL, NHL and MLB to South Park, Mean Girls, and Grateful Dead, which makes them a great option for gift-giving and superfans.
They also have a customizer option, so you can build your own pair of Knockarounds by choosing your frames, front and arm colors, lens color and style, and logo color.
Golfer Approved, Budget Friendly
Not just any sunglasses can cut it on the golf course, and Knockaround has planted its flag in the golf sunglasses space by partnering with the PGA Tour and collaborating with TRUE Linkswear. For golfers curious to find out for themselves how these shades perform on the course, Knockaround has positioned itself nicely with a friendly price point.
For about the cost of a box of premium golf balls, you can add a pair of Knockaround sunglasses to the rotation and see for yourself how they do on the course.
