The Best Putters for Women of 2022
Not long ago, shopping for women’s golf clubs was more of a hassle than an exciting experience. Manufacturers didn't have nearly as many models available for women as they do today, putters included. When you walk into a golf retailer today, you’ll notice the women’s putter section continues to grow, which we love to see. With that growth comes more decisions. Women are no longer limited to a handful of putter options to choose from.
In order to identify the best putters for women of 2022, we leaned on a few friends to help test putters. In total, we put 28 different putters to the test, and these eight models stood out from the rest.

As you’ll notice, we’re guys. So we enlisted help from four lady friends of GolfLink, with handicaps ranging from 7 to 22, who volunteered to test putters. We also put all 28 putter models to the test ourselves and were blown away at how manufacturers have copied technology from men’s putters and seamlessly transitioned it to women’s models. With several putters, we genuinely could not tell a bit of difference between the men's and women's versions.
Through our testing and feedback, we found three key areas that women should consider when shopping for a new putter.
Style and Detail
Some women want a putter with more style than one on the men’s rack. This can be coloring or perhaps a different type of script on the putter itself. If you’re looking for a putter that is designed with your style in mind, we have a number of options that we think you’ll enjoy.
On the flip side, one of our testers explained that they prefer the putter to have detailing comparable to the equivalent men's model. No pink or purple. We're good with that too.
Weight and Length
The one constant among our testers and a majority of women shopping for a new putter is that it accommodates an average woman’s height. That’s why many companies' women’s putters include a stock length between 31 and 32 inches. Comparatively, men’s putters normally 33 to 35 inches.
Similarly, the putter's weight should also be a focus. Women’s putters usually have a smaller, lighter grip and a lighter shaft. Both contribute to a lighter overall weight and an easier stroke.
Price
No product guide would be complete without considering price. Price should be a major factor when shopping for any piece of golf equipment. You can spend anywhere from $50 to $500 on a new putter, so it’s important to determine your budget.
Best Overall for Women: PING G Le2 Shea
Price | $220 [Shop at PGA Tour Superstore] |
What Makes it Great | Adjustable shaft length |
What Could be Better | Alignment line |
The PING G Le2 Shea caught our eye immediately. There are blades putters and there are mallets, but this mid-mallet combines the best of both worlds.
Upon the first roll, it’s apparent that the G Le2 Shea is designed to sit behind the ball and square up effortlessly. The shaft meets the hosel cleanly, adding to the overall aesthetics that PING is well-known for. What made the G Le2 Shea our top pick in the category is its adjustable shaft that moves from 31 to 35 inches with a small wrench. This ensures you'll have the proper length club for your height and stance. On top of all that, the G Le2 Shea is an incredibly forgiving putter and feels great at impact. It comes with a soft, mid-size grip that helps if you tend to open or shut the face.
TaylorMade Spider GT Womens
Price | $350 [Shop at PGA Tour Superstore] |
What Makes it Great | Distinct coloring and design |
What Could be Better | Price |
The TaylorMade Spider GT is the number one putter of the LPGA Tour, and if you give it a demo, we’re confident you’ll understand why.
Its design is different from previous Spider putters, but we like how TaylorMade kept a unique design while not going too overboard. The women’s model is striking, mainly because of its light blue accents which can be seen on the wings (legs?) and the three-dot sightline. It’s lighter than the men’s model, yes, but not to the point of feeling completely different.
The Spider GT might have won this category for us and our testers if it wasn't for the $350 price tag, but if you make the investment, you’ll get a great piece of equipment.
PING G Le2 Anser
Price | $220 [Shop at PGA Tour Superstore] |
What Makes it Great | Classic style with modern technology |
What Could be Better | Alignment line |
If you haven't figured it out yet, we really like PING's G Le2 lineup. We follow-up our best overall (Shea) with this classic G Le2 Anser putter. Some people like a familiar head shape, and that’s exactly what you get with this blade.
Several features make this putter different from past Ansers. First, it has the same adjustable length shaft as the Shea, which is incredibly innovative. It also has a soft, responsive insert that feels great on long and short putts. Lastly, it has really nice purple accents, which aren't overdone. The only thing that held the Anser back, in our testers opinion, was the top alignment line, which could stand to be bolder. Aside from that, the PING G Le2 Anser is a safe bet for a majority of players.
Wilson Infinite Womens Bucktown
Price | $130 [Shop at PGA Tour Superstore] |
What Makes it Great | Popular shape at a great price |
What Could be Better | Additional length options |
The “fang” or “wing” style mallet putter is hugely popular on all major tours. Many manufacturers have their own take on this design, including Wilson's Infinite Bucktown putter. For $130 you really can’t go wrong with this purchase, especially if you’re curious what all of the fuss is about.
This putter has a dark matte finish, so the alignment lines pop and it reduces glare on sunny days. Its double-milled face is soft and our testers noted the Infinite Bucktown's performance from inside of 15-feet as much as anything else on this list. The counter-balanced grip is a nice touch, which helps provide a smooth, repeatable, and accurate stroke. We would like to see it available in some additional length options, but asking your local retailer to blow the grip off and snip an inch or two should be no problem.
Evnroll ER 5W
Price | $380 [Shop at Golf Galaxy] |
What Makes it Great | Premium everything, top to bottom |
What Could be Better | We want to say price, but it’s an Evnroll |
If you’ve never tried an Evnroll putter, we invite you to make the Evnroll ER5W putter your first. You’ll see why they are some of the best-feeling putters money can buy. Our 7-handicap tester voted this putter as her best of the category (the other three votes went to the PING G Le2 Shea), which makes sense because Evnroll makes a premium putter typically favored by better players.
The winged mallet design is silky smooth. There’s a nice, bold alignment line and also a pleasantly surprising pair of subtle dimples. It has some teal paint detailing, but isn't far from the men’s design, so if you’re looking for a putter with a little feminne flare but not pink or purple, you’ll like it. There’s also a TourTac, slightly oversized grip which matches the head in color. It carries a premium price, but what can you expect from a premium stick?
Odyssey OG White Hot 2-Ball
Price | $230 [Shop at PGA Tour Superstore] |
What Makes it Great | Old school meets new school |
What Could be Better | Insert firmness |
Look around at golf bags at your local public course and you’ll likely spot the original Odyssey 2-Ball being played by some weekend warriors. Recently, Odyssey brought back some original White Hot designs under the OG name.
Odyssey brought us back in time with the OG White Hot 2-Ball putter, and it still performed as good as we remember. Our testers noted it was, by far, the softest of any putter tested and admittedly it did feel a lot softer than the original. However, the 2-Ball still holds true as one of the easiest putters to line up. We tested a version with a stepped steel shaft but there is the option of having Odyssey’s popular Stroke Lab shaft.
Tour Edge Lady Edge Mallet
Price | $50 [Shop at Tour Edge] |
What Makes it Great | Basic, yet effective |
What Could be Better | Headcover |
If you’re a beginner and are looking for a basic putter, the Tour Edge Lady Edge mallet should be at the top of your list. When we say basic, we don’t want that to be taken out of context. While this model doesn’t have any bells or whistles, it’s very well made and could serve you for many years.
The mallet head gives you a little extra forgiveness over a blade and it also promotes a more straight back, straight through stroke. With the Lady Edge mallet you have a choice of lime, purple, or teal accent coloring and as with all Tour Edge clubs, this putter has a lifetime guarantee. For $50, you won’t find a better deal.
Tommy Armour Impact Mallet
Price | $120 [Shop at Golf Galaxy] |
What Makes it Great | Unique two-tone coloring |
What Could be Better | Grip is a little small |
The Tommy Armour brand, which is available at Dick’s Sporting Goods and Golf Galaxy, is sneaky good at producing quality golf clubs. It might not be first on your list, but you should absolutely roll some putts with the Tommy Armour Impact mid-mallet.
Two-toned putters don’t always look right to the eye, but this silver and copper combo looks really nice. Overall, the look of this putter resembles a putter more expensive than the $120 price tag. It’s a mid-mallet, so like the G Le2 Shea, it’s part blade, part mallet. The insert feel is soft, but not so soft that you feel like you have to mash your putt. The only spot where this putter fell short for us was the grip, which we felt could be larger like some of the others on the list.
Our Putter Testing Process
In order to provide you, the GolfLink reader, the most accurate and trustworthy lists of the best putters in every category, GolfLink staff writer Todd Mrowice personally tested 158 different putters from 22 different manufacturers, stroking – by his count – 3,160 putts in a roughly 30-day span. To find the best putters for women, we also enlisted four women golfers with handicaps ranging from 7-22, who tested and reviewed 28 different putters.
As a result of Todd’s, and our testers' extensive hands-on testing, you get honest, first-hand feedback on how almost every putter available stacks up to the competition, and which golfers each putter benefits. We also hope Todd has managed to save a stroke or two from all that putting practice.
The Final Putt
A a woman, choosing a putter is more complicated than ever before, but in the best possible way. There are so many great options with varying designs and prices that it's more essential than ever to get out and test putters. We hope that this list helps guide you to a great purchase. One that helps you sink more putts against your ladies league, significant other, or fellow tournament competitors.
