Putters aren’t cheap, but you can save a ton of money and still get a great putter. In fact, this list of 10 putters all under $200 includes some great putters under $100, with the meat of the value putter market checking in under $150.

I’ve gamed, demoed and tested at least 50 different putters in the last year-plus. Some of them are under $100, and others have a comma in the price tag. Of course, there’s great golf equipment that costs an arm and a leg, but what I’m really impressed with is how competitive the best budget putters are with the premium, $400 offerings.

Here are the best cheap putters and the best value putters of 2025.

Price Category: Under $150
Head Styles: Blade, Mallet, Fang

Pros:

  • Milled face and satisfying feel
  • Sleek looks
  • Premium stitched headcover included

Cons:

  • Many head shapes only available in right-handed versions

I’m adamant that you can’t go wrong with any putter on this list, especially if you’re searching for a great value putter, but with that said, if I had $150 to pick a putter to put in my bag today, it would be this HB SOFT 2 flatstick.

I love the classic look, minimal branding, and gray satin finish. I also appreciate that the HB SOFT is available in blade, mallet, or fang options, so no matter what your stroke type and personal preference is, you can find a version of this putter that matches your needs.

The diamond-pattern milled face gives it a softer feel at impact, but it’s the Speed Optimized Face Technology that provides the SOFT in the name. That technology helps ensure consistency across the face, which improves your distance control and can help you cut down on three-putts.

On top of all that, it comes with a premium stitched headcover.

If you want a little something extra, and still stay within a $200 budget, the Black option not only has a sleek black head, but comes with an upgraded multi-material UST Mamiya ALL-IN shaft for $199, $50 more than the standard version.

Price Category: Under $200
Head Styles: Blade

Pros:

  • Quintessential classic blade putter
  • Slightly deeper profile for added stability

Cons:

  • Players looking for bright colors or unique designs won't find it here

In a word, this PING Anser putter is juicy. It oozes PING's timeless putter design with a premium package complete with the minimalist look thanks to PING's resistance to add "flare" with vibrant colors. Indeed, the satin head with black accents, milled face, and classic shape create an elegant recipe, and if you're looking for an excellent putter that's no more than $200, this is a must-see.

There's a reason PING Anser putters became so popular, and so copied: they're good. This Anser D has a slightly deeper profile that adds stability without subtracting from the look and feel of this classic.

Wilson Infinite

Wilson Infinite Windy City blade putter

There's no doubt the Wilson Infinite putter is the best putter under $100 of 2025

FIND ON AMAZON
Price Category: $100 & Under
Head Styles: Up to 8 choose from

Pros:

  • Best putter under $100
  • Oversized, counter-balanced grip improves stability
  • Attractive black finish
  • Impressive lineup of head shapes to choose from

Cons:

  • Inventory may be limited

The Wilson Infinite putter, in my opinion, is the best value putter of 2025. It checks in a penny or two under $100, but your playing partners would believe it cost twice that much. Along with Tour Edge, it's one of the only sub-$100 putters on this list that comes from a brand played on Tour. Wilson really dug into its Chicago roots to deliver its line of Infinite putters, naming each of the various head shapes for a Chicago landmark or neighborhood.

I love that Wilson saved the branding for the sole of the putter, where it won’t often be seen, favoring a much more minimalist, classic design on the rest of the putter.

The fly cut milling pattern gives a medium feel off the face.

However, as with a few of the putters on this list, the Infinite isn’t Wilson’s latest release, and it won’t be available forever.

Odyssey DFX

Odyssey DFX putter

FIND ON AMAZON
Price Category: Under $150
Head Styles: 2 Ball, Blade, Fang, Double Wide, Mid-Mallet

Pros:

  • Odyssey is the most prestigious putter-maker on this list
  • Five head styles to choose from, including the legendary 2 Ball
  • Various length and grip options also available to fine-tune your new putter
  • Odyssey’s softest insert results in a smooth and satisfying feeling

Cons:

  • Some players may prefer a grooved or milled face

When you saw a list of the best cheap, budget, affordable, value, whatever you want to call it putters of 2025, I’ll bet you didn’t expect to see an Odyssey on here. Well, here it is, and this Odyssey DFX putter comfortably checks into our middle tier of under-$150 putters.

This classic release from Odyssey boasts the brand’s softest putter face, quite the feat considering Odyssey’s White Hot face was known for being satisfyingly soft.

Even though I’m personally a blade guy, I love that this is available in a 2 Ball head, one of the best-selling putter heads of all time. In fact, just the thought of pairing that 2 Ball head with an incredibly soft face for about $130 tempts me to convert to a mallet.

I digress.

The black putter head and white alignment markings and trim create quite the contrast over the ball, the signature DFX look. That soft face insert is smooth, not milled or grooved, which may not be every player’s preference. But with five head shapes and various grip options, there’s a DXF for almost any player.

TaylorMade TP Black

TaylorMade TP Black

The TaylorMade TP Black rivals today's $400 putters at half the price

Price Category: Under $200
Head Styles: Blade, wide blade, fang, mid-mallet

Pros:

  • Pure Roll insert produces, well, pure roll
  • Two neck options in most heads to optimize toe hang to your stroke
  • One of the cleanest-looking putters of 2025

Cons:

  • Top end of “budget” putter scale

We can’t have a list of the best putters under $200 without recommending at least one putter that pushes the limits of that budget. Checking in at $199.99, the TaylorMade TP Black putter is our top recommendation of the group that pushes that budget to the last penny.

If you’ve noticed a trend towards black and dark putter heads, that’s because it reduces glare at address, and also because it looks sleek.

Looks are a huge selling point of the TP Black putter, but ultimately we judge putters on how they perform, which is why we admire the TP Black. With various hosel options in several of the head shapes offered, you can dial in the performance of your TP Black putter before you even stroke a single putt. If you rotate the face a lot during your stroke, opt for the L-neck hosel, which has 38-degrees of toe hang. If your arc is more mild, the 27-degree toe hang long hosel is likely a better choice for you.

When you finally do stroke putts with the TP Black, you’ll notice a smooth, immediate roll. That’s thanks to TaylorMade’s Pure Roll insert with groves designed for optimal forward roll off the face.

Of course, if you’re looking for the best bargain putter you can find, a $200 putter might not fit the bill. However, if you simply don’t have an appetite for the next tier of putter prices, the $350-$450 echelon, the performance you get for $200 in this putter is likely quite refreshing.

Ram Laser

Ram Golf Laser Black Milled Face Mallet Putter

For our money, the Ram Laser is the best $50 putter out there

RAM GOLF
Price Category: Under $100
Head Styles: Mallet

Pros:

  • Best $50 putter
  • Mallet head shape offers ample forgiveness
  • Milled face
  • Headcover included

Cons:

  • Available in face-balanced mallet only

If you’re looking for the cheapest putter to round out your bag that still looks, feels, and performs well, check out the Ram Laser Black Milled putter, which will set you back just $50. It’s easily the most affordable putter on this list, but that doesn’t mean it’s not a great putter if you’re on a budget.

Let’s start with the alignment aid. You look down at three parallel lines that run the length of the putter head, and are accompanied by a perpendicular line at the face which Ram found to improve accuracy.

Speaking of that putter head, it’s available in any option you want, as long as you want a face-balanced mallet. Sure, not a lot of choices, but this shape and profile should fit most beginning and high-handicap golfers who putt with a straight-back and straight-through stroke.

It even comes with a headcover to help protect that black finish, of course at this price, it’s not the most luxurious headcover we’ve ever seen.

All in all, if you need the most affordable putter that’s worth adding to your bag, this is our top recommendation.

Pros:

  •  Counterbalanced and standard options available
  • Looks great at address

Cons:

  • All models are face balanced, no toe hang options

Tommy Armour, which is Dick’s Sporting Goods and Golf Galaxy’s in-house brand of clubs, is starting to get the respect it deserves. I’ve spent hours testing and writing about Tommy Armour putters, wedges, irons and woods, and I can tell you that if you think it’s nothing more than a cheap knock-off brand, you’re dead wrong. These clubs perform.

When it comes to the Tommy Armour Impact putter, there’s a new release for 2024, which is exciting news for those of us who know just how good these clubs are.

The high-contrast black finish makes setup a breeze and this 2024 edition replaces a face insert with the milled face, and with the all-black head, looks much cleaner than the two-tone design of the previous model. In testing the Tommy Armour Impact putter, I was most impressed with how easy it was to control distance, which is the biggest key to avoiding three-putts.

Tour Edge makes quality golf clubs, and for somewhere between $60 and $80, the Bazooka Pro is dollar-for-dollar one of the strongest deals on this list.

The red and white alignment aid on top helps promote a consistent and effective setup, and the face insert features micro-grooves which help get putts rolling quicker, rather than skidding.

It comes standard with a large grip, which many players prefer because it helps take wrist and hand action out of the stroke, which ultimately improves accuracy and consistency.

I also like that you can get this putter in four different head shapes, so it’s easy to find one that suits your eye.

Maltby Pure-Track Tour Milled Putter

SHOP MALTBY
Price Category: Under $100 to Under $150
Head Styles: Blade, Mallet

Pros:

  • Head only is just $89
  • Clean, classic aesthetic
  • Custom lie and loft adjustments are available free of charge

Cons:

  • Right-handed only

I recently built my own three wood using components from Maltby and The Golf Works, and it was a very rewarding, and affordable, experience.

If you’re tired of the outlandish prices of good golf equipment these days, check out Maltby. Even if you have no interest in assembling clubs yourself, you can still save loads of cash and have The Golf Works handle the assembly. Or, you can put the components together yourself if that’s your prerogative.

This Pure-Track Tour Milled PTM putter is available in blade or mallet heads. Whichever you choose, it’s a clean aesthetic with a premium milled face.

Whether you choose the preselected package from The Golf Works, which adds a popular shaft and grip selection to the head and comes with an assembly option, select your own components, or just get the head and use a shaft you already have, this might be the best way to save money on a premium putter.

Pros:

  • Premium build at Direct-to-Consumer pricing
  • Minimalist, classic design
  • Various neck options
  • Various models complement 001 to offer all head shapes

Cons:

  • Not available in retail, making it difficult to try before you buy

Sub 70 prides itself on making high-quality equipment, so nobody should be surprised to see clubs from Sub 70 earn best value recognition. Truthfully, any Sub 70 putter is worthy of a "Best Value" badge because they’re all easy on your wallet and perform well beyond the price. That's partly because all Sub 70 putters are CNC milled from a single piece of carbon steel, just like putters that cost twice as much.

We picked the Sycamore 001 because it hits home with just about every player. Almost every golfer has played a blade like this at one point or another. The single alignment mark offers a familiar look and the shape benefits players with a bit of arc in their putting stroke.

The 001 is available with a plumber’s neck or a flowneck design. The all-black coloring is sleek and looks like a custom putter. We really can’t come up with a single knock on this putter, it’s one you have to demo to believe.
