Seattle is blessed with three pretty good municipal courses, and Jackson is the best of the three in terms of challenge and interesting layout. Yes, it can be slow, but it is usually not excruciatingly so. It now has a multi-level driving range. Always call ahead to make sure that course isn't booked by a group or the local school golf team. The club house is still crappy, but I think the city has plans to replace it one of these days. Hole #2 is the only real "nothing" hole; all of the others have at least some character to them. Holes 11, 12, and 13 are the "amen corner" of Jackson Park; all very exciting. Water on 5 separate holes will get your attention. Hole #1 is a real conundrum.
