Southern Hills was a huge surprise!!! What a fantastic course! The clubhouse/pro shop is incredible and the staff was so friendly and talkative.The course is so well maintained. Signage everywhere so you always know where you're at and what's left for the hole. I played in July of '12 and the course was in great shape.The cart paths are long and windy through trees and more trees. Felt like you were in a national forest. The scenery this course has to offer is amazing. The holes offer narrow shots, blind corners, elevation changes, and the bunkers are very fair. The sand was some of the best I've ever played from.The back nine might be the best 9 holes of golf I've seen before, not that the front 9 was bad itself!! Make the effort and drive to Hot Springs to play this course if you're in RC, it will not disappoint you!!
This is a great course that is a little bit off the grid and not as well-known. It is never hard to get a tee time and is a fun yet challenging course to play. It is now under new maintenance and the course hasn't looked better with a number of improvements still to come. I have played Red Rocks, Hart Ranch, Meadowbrook, Spearfish Canyon and Devils Tower and this is still one of my favorites. I definitely recommend playing this course!
Management is rude and has no concept of customer service. Got to have your golf cart in early or she calls the police. Holes aren't long enough for a tournament and everything is overpriced. I will never ever play at this course ever again. Oh, and don't buy a house on the course, the water pressure is tied into the golf course and you have to shower, clean, wash clothes on the golf courses watering schedule.
