Great value for $41 through myrtlebeachgolf.com. excellent condition although they had just receeded and it was cartpath only until hole 12. Sand traps make you hit sharp shots. Still, very fair. Nice layout. Excellent value for me at a 14 hand-cap.

Played Shaftesbury Glen today, a mild late-November day, as part of a Myrtle Beach golf package. This course is related to three other "Glen" courses in the area. The course was in excellent shape, except the greens from hole 8 on into 18 were recently aerated. Greens 1-7 ran hard and fast with not many breaks. The aeration slowed the rest of them down a bit.

There are four sets of tees - ranging from 4,900 to 6,900 yards in length. This course features lots and lots of sand bunkers. Looks like there are 50 bunkers in all. Some small bunkers, some very large bunkers. All holes have some sort of sand bunker arrangement. On every hole, there is a path to the green without having to clear a sand bunker, but on some of them, the path is not very wide. If you keep the ball straight, you can avoid most of the bunkers. Luckily for me, I did not hit my first bunker until hole 17. My wife was not so lucky.

They have a restaurant that serves simple food that was adequate.

Overall, a very nice experience.
