The Oakville Golf Club is a top-notch golf facility located close to Lake Ontario. The nine-hole private course is open to members only and offers the perfect balance of modern design and rich history.The century-old golf club offers golfers a nice challenge on a beautifully manicured course. The par-35 course is 3,132 yards long from the back tees. Most of the fairways are wide and flat, but you'll come across plenty of hazards on every hole. A creek runs through the course and affects your shot on many holes. On the par-4 sixth hole, you'll play your tee shot over a small pond but the creek cuts right across the fairway so big hitters will have to hold back to stay out of trouble. It's best to play 150 yards off the tee and set up for an open shot to the sloped green.On the fourth hole, the creek runs right behind the hole, so miss the green long and you'll be adding a penalty stroke. The fourth green is also very sloped, as is the case on most of the holes.The course is in great condition with soft rolling fairways and greens. Landscaping mixed with the mature trees and natural setting combine for a very pretty setting.The amenities at Oakville Golf Club are excellent. The charming clubhouse boasts a spacious patio and an impressive menu. Warm up before your round on the practice pitching green and sand trap and work on shots up to 120 yards.The staff is very friendly and customer-focused.
