Vesper Hills is now under NEW management. Anyone who hasn't played the course in a few years will be amazed at the current changes. The clubhouse has been totally renovated opening up a 360 deg view of the surrounding course and beautiful scenery of Otisco Lake and valley. There's a new restaurant facility and bar called 'The Loft' with a rustic decoration style to match its name. The food is excellent and there are new 'specials' each day. You can dine inside or sit outside on one of 3 new decks to catch the evening sunset over the lake.As for the golf course itself, it is continually being upgraded. A new superintendent has already made tremendous changes to the fairways and greens. The greens are maintained, cut and rolled frequently making them smoother and faster than ever before. Some traps are being removed while older grassed ones are being reopened. Other major changes include new carts, expanded parking area, drainage issues are being addressed and NO MORE GEESE!All in all - this is a rising star at a great value, with great food and great golf!
Vesper offers a great value with good quality golf , interesting hill country and lake views, a variety of challenges on different holes. The front side is traditional flat land style layout, the back works down a small ravine and back up again. Expect some wind because of high elevation, with 5 or so holes with great views down to Otisco Lake. We enjoy playing here as play is light , probably because of its out of the way location. Worth a short drive.
