The Golf Club At Owego

Tried this course today for the first time. I can echo the earlier comments. More links like on the front, tighter with good elevation changes on the back. Greens are small and fast but are mounded and tend to be hard to hit and stay on. 10 and 11 are nice holes and interesting. Not very long but does require accuracy. $30 for 18 and a cart make it a good value.

Played on 8/21/11. A few of my friends have said that they didn't like it, but we had a coupon so we gave it a try. I was very pleased. Like the other reviews suggest, the front nine has sort of a Brittish feel to it. The back nine is more wooded. Many of the greens are small and even good approach shots can still miss. One complaint I have is that it wasn't mowed in some of the tee boxes, and several of the fairways had long grass. It was frustrating to hit a fantastic drive only to find my ball buried in rough smack in the center of the fairway. The scenery is fantastic and the clubhouse has a rustic charm. I understand that this is a relatively new course, and I have no doubt that over time this will develop into a very nice place.
